COMMENTS FROM THE COMMUNITY OF NKABIKA IN MONZE - SOUTHERN PROVINCE

 

Headman Nkabika: Ndakatalika kwindakwambila ba Member of Parliament aba councilor penzi lyameenda pele kunyina cakalikucitika, pele sunu ngaya meenda, asalala, batuletela ba People's Action Forum aba Life Giving Water. Amukabaambile kuti twasyoomezya kucibamba kabotu akuciyakila chiguju, twalumba kapati.”

 

Translation: I started a long time ago telling the Member of Parliament and his Councilor about the problem of water here, nothing ever happened. Today People's Action Forum in conjunction with Life Giving Water Project have given us clean water. Please tell them that we are so thankful and as this property belongs to us we shall gurad it and maintain it .

 

Mrs. Hatwiinda: “Twalikunywa antoomwe abanyama balo balikusubila mumonya mumeenda. Sunu twaba a chiguju cesu cijisi meenda mabotu, twalumba ba Life Giving Water Project kwiinda muliba People's Action Forum kucipego eeci cibotu bobu.”

 

Translation: We used to drink water together with the animals which even threw their waste in the water. Today we have a borehole which will give us clean water we thank Life Giving Water Project through People's Action Forum for this wonderful gift.

 

Mutinta: “Ndakalikucelwa kucikolo nkaambo kakufumina kumeenda chifumofumo, alimwi ndakalikukatala kapati kucikolo akaambo ka kweenda musinzo mulamfu kuya kumeenda.”

 

Translation : I used to get to school late because of walking a long distance to draw water before going to school. I also got to school feeling very tied because of the distances covered in going to draw water.
